While it came out a few years ago, I just watched Broken: Makeup Mayhem on Netflix which reveals the world of counterfeit cosmetics and the insane issues behind them. Well worth a watch! As for the news this week:

• ''Heiress to Carhartt clothing fortune - who died in December aged 97 - was scammed out of $21 MILLION by lawyer in charge of her estate 'who issued himself loans and IOUs'''- Well this guy sucks.

• ''‘Fake It 'Til You Make It’: Meet Charlie Javice, The Startup Founder Who Fooled JP Morgan''- Forbes has a knack for having picked some epically ethically-challenged founders for its 30 Under 30 List. This latest one having even said, “Listen, these old people don't understand, this is how it works, you fake it 'til you make it.'‘

• ''Outcome Health co-founders, former executives charged in alleged $1B fraud scheme''- And on the subject of fraudulent CEOs, how has this story not gotten more press?

• ''Google is laying off 12,000 employees as another brutal week comes to an end for tech”- And it was just announced that Spotify is also laying off 6% of its staff. Meanwhile, Google seems to have REALLY fumbled their layoffs— with lots of people sharing their stories of the brutal way they learned of the news (like this woman and this TikTok’er).

• Dubai is definitely pouring money into the PR machine but considering the UAE’s stance on LGBTQIA+ rights, it’s disappointing to see there’s so much traction.
