I was so excited to send this weekâs newsletter because last week I realized I đ«have a colleague that worked at Fyre Fest đ« and he had written a piece about his experience so this weekâs roundup kicks off withâŠ
âTrue Life: I Was Hired To Work At Fyre Festivalâ- Ok, so obviously a throwback but even if you thought you knew everything there was to know about Fyre Fest, Ianâs write-up covers some stuff that wasnât in the documentaries, on Twitter, etc. Thanks Ian, youâve made a lot of people happy today.
âKim Kardashian Is Being Called âOut Of Touchâ For Her âOffensiveâ âAdviceâ For Women In Business. Hereâs Everything You Need To Know.â- Weâve been following and posting about this in our stories over the last week, but hereâs everything in one place.
âThe Short, Strange, Very Predictable Story of Caroline Callowayâs Snake Oilâ - GUYS. Caroline Calloway is my favorite influencer-gone-bad. If yâall donât have background on herâ DEFINITELY read these two articles first:
ââToxic behaviorâ: Norah OâDonnellâs attitude under fire at âCBS Evening Newsââ - This anchorwoman is being compared to âThe Devil Wears Prada,â never a good sign for that work environment.
âMeghan Markleâs Biggest Troll Is Her Half-Sister Samanthaâ - This woman is legitimately a trash goblin, and that makes me sad for Meghan.
âWeeping Russian influencer slammed for moaning about lost income from Instagram ban amid Ukraine bloodshedâ - Yikes. No words. PS. here are some great ways to donate to Ukraine.
âHoliday swindler? Hello Darlings CEO disappears with millions paid for foreign tripsâ- I canât help but wonder if with a name like Hello Darlings, this travel agency wasnât just a blatantly planned scam off the bat. Unsurprisingly, the CEO seems to have vanished.
âFresno lost $400,000 to a phishing scam in 2020 and never told the publicâ- Whoops, this makes me feel like maybe those IT phishing tests actually are pretty helpful.
âFake heiress Anna Sorokin still in US amid deportation rumorsâ- *Anna voice* Fake news, not VIP treatment.
As yâall know, March is FULL of upcoming scam-inspired documentaries and series. Hereâs a list of everything worth watching, with several having just premiered!
And as a bonus, below is this weekâs SNL cold open where they spoofed influencer and Tik-Tokâers helping teach folks about Russia invading Ukraine and what that means for the States. Also for background, if you missed itâ check out AnnaLynne McCordâs bizarre AF video to Putin telling him âIâm so sorry I was not your mother.â She then defended her poem saying that she âeasily have moved in the direction of becoming a dictator myself.â
Weekly Proof That Truth Will Always Be More Scandalous Than Fiction
âHow an Obscure Finnish EDM Artist Hijacked Countless Spotify Playlistsâ - Remember how mad we all got when U2âs album was automatically downloaded to all our iPhones? It now pales in comparison to some poor woman having a horrible EDM track automatically added to the playlist for her momâs funeral⊠woof.
