Goop called out (again), an influencer kidnapping, & a Kardashian clap back 👀🍿🧃
This issue also smells vaguely like an Abercrombie store
Assuming y’all saw Will Smith slap Chris Rock at the Oscars but felt like we’d be remiss not to mention it. And with that, here are this week’s scandals, scams, and cons:
“Gwyneth Paltrow's former right-hand woman SLAMS 'toxic wellness culture': Ex Goop exec says she 'punished' and 'distorted' her body for years as a result of cleanses like those touted by the actress's woo woo lifestyle brand”- It was just a matter of time that something GOOP-related made it onto The Wreck List, and this inaugural piece doesn’t disappoint. The woman somehow manages to still plug a diet program, so pot meet kettle 🙄.
“Kim Kardashian Apologized For Her ‘Women In Business’ Quotes And Insisted They Were Taken Out Of Context But Variety Has Hit Back And Said ‘It’s Not What She Claims’”-Variety’s working hard and not letting KimK off the hook, good on them.
“Rumour Has It, Influencers Were 'Tricked' Into Auditioning For 'Byron Baes', And Now Plan To Sue”- This is probably something the cast of Jersey Shore should have done, but we know how that went. Separately, I’m gonna start using the excuse, “Spiritually, I saw that I didn't align with…” when opting out of things going forward.
“Instagram influencer 'Jay Mazini' pleads guilty to Bergen kidnapping charges”- This influencer rivalry got taken offline and ended up with someone getting beaten and held at knifepoint with a machete.
“Applebee’s Tone-Deaf Executive Giddily Says He Can Pay Lower Wages Because Of Inflation And Higher Gas Prices”- Looks like Applebee’s is actively trying to lose its last few hundred customers.
“Instagram Influencers Dupe Their Fans With ‘Free’ Products”- Rude. But I also can’t understand why someone would buy this sweatshirt proclaiming they have a uh, small appendage or basically any of products from one of these stores but okay.
“Netflix Documentary Goes Inside The Rise and Fall of Of Abercrombie & Fitch”- More of a teaser of the drama to come, but A&F didn’t help with anyone’s self esteem in middle school or high school, so there’s a certain level of satisfaction knowing they’ll be called out for some ish.
“Four Deutsche Bank execs are fired for 'charging strip club visit to the company and then trying to cover up the night of lewd entertainment'“ - $10 someone was still drunk from said-adventure when running their expense report. Oops.
