I purchased a NWT designer dress from them and received a worn, completely different dress. Making the return was a nightmare, they treated me like a criminal when they were essentially ripping me off. I would never use The Real Real again.
This all rings true. Itβs likely that part of the fire sales happening now are part of TRRβs effort to focus on higher-ticket items β and needing to clear out everything sub around $1500.
I personally have had the worst experience with TRR. I sent them 67 items. They took 65. I disagree with the pricing six originally. I had to fight to get those back, but they came back.
The next batch They processed was also drastically underpriced. I asked for seven of them back at $20 apiece obviously. However, some of them had already sold for eight dollars profit for me.
They had literally discounted me with tags thousand dollar dresses on items that hadnβt been up a weekβ¦
Kept getting the runaround only the ones that hadnβt sold long enough that they did sale.
I finally got seven pieces, returned to me.
I just requested another batch to be returned. This is all happening in real time.
Hopefully they actually mailed it because they definitely took it out of the proceeds from the items I didnβt want sold.
Customer service is an absolute joke. The texting is horrific.
I also just love to sit around and watch brand new items being purchased, returned, listed in a worse condition at a lower price. I donβt even understand how that is ethical I should be paid for the first time the item sold, in that condition at that price. It feels like a lot of people just purchase to use something once and return it.
I have to check the site daily to see whatβs going onβ¦ It feels like a full-time job.
So I finally just made the decision to ask for everything I wanted back.
I consigned so many pieces with them That I would be paying them hundreds of dollars to get them all mail back to me⦠If they ever make it back to me
So, I just had to make some really tough decisions on what to ask to be returned. They wonβt let me pay the $20 fee for each item requested with my AMEX.
It has to be through my earnings. Aye, thereβs the rub.
Honestly, the only thing that ever worked with them was threatening to contact the Better Business Bureau.
Magically things that werenβt available or couldnβt be found were found.
The whole experience is just worn me out. I have zero desire to ever use this company again.
At best, they are unethical and are barely skirting the law. At worst, they are complete thieves that deliberately mislead you.
I did shop on there until I started consigning and realized how badly they take advantage of their consigners. I just canβt bring myself to purchase anything from them ever again. I feel like Iβm totally screwing someone else over.
The most annoying part of everything is they keep emailing you to consign more even though you are actively trying to stop consigning and pay for the return of items they already have and wonβt stop selling!!
Stay far away from this company, if youβre considering consigning. It becomes a literal nightmare.
I am currently going through the process of selling and I have not yet seen them update me etc. I am getting worried and funny enough my intuition guided me here
The Real Real has outsourced their customer service to another country and it is horrible. I purchased a Row bag and had to pay extra for the privilege of having a return option. There was no tracking movement for 11 days- many frustrated calls to customer service and UPS- and suffice to say once o did receive the bag, I was told the return window was closed, despite the terms being the option to return within one week of receipt of the item. I probably called customer service 40 times, which resulted in being hung up on numerous times, promised call backs from supervisors that never came, and no response from the contracted insurer either - clearly a scam. I am furious and apparently have no recourse. I will never shop there again and I would warm every buyer you shop at your own risk.
Hello ! I am in touch with an attorney. Someone stole items from my home and hacked my real real account to consign . The police have it on record that it was a van pick up and they had the description of the theif . They have refuses to share identity and I am concerned about my safety 24/7 ! The night I discovered it was on the real real their customer service manager told me to lock all my doors and windows and stay safe . I am out a pair of Tiffany diamond and pearl earrings. This company has created false allegations to cover their asses and continue to put my safety at risk . I have a ton of evidence and Iβm not giving up . They are awful and donβt care about anything but their own company .
Same thing happened with me. Decided to sale my fur through them but asked first to provide me the cost and not to sell without my permission, but today open the site and saw , sold it for $481 , for mink coat excellent condition , my commission is $261 , nightmare. Will go to the lawyer and sue them.
No name redactions for individual employees not involved in the suit?? Get ready for your own lawsuit π€£. More to comeβ¦
Just pulled from the court documents which are all already public record (many of which were provided by The RealRealβs legal team) π
You seem pretty litigious. Do you know what libel is? Clearly not.
Iβll send you some articles with the letter from our lawyers π
Sounds good, you have my email?
Could you send me please too. Thanks

Welcome! Any luck with getting an update from them?
